Enrolled students who are scheduled may come to the Center any time during this period for class. Please allow for at least 30 minutes per subject in the Center for your students class time.

If you ever have to miss a class, call (913) 451-1130 so that we can make alternate arrangements for you to collect your Kumon work. An after hours pick-up box is available, the homework is placed in an envelope with your students name for pick up outside of regular class time, but call first!

The Kumon classroom has to be a quiet study area so that everyone can concentrate. Please work quietly, and do not disturb other students. Brothers, sisters and parents are asked to use quiet voices while in the waiting area also please

Center Routine

2.) Take the Clear Packet Pocket folder out of the green hanging folder and find your assigned table.

3.) The clear folder has three pockets. The front pocket is labeled CLASS, this is where you find your packets for class time and home. The pocket on the backside is labeled HOME, this where you place your returning and completed homework. The center clear folder pocket is for things that stay at the center while you are away, such as passports or math-vocabulary flash cards.

4.) If there are any corrections from the prior class noted in your folder, do them first. Then start your class-work. Remember to write your name and starting and finishing times on all your packets!

5.) If you get stuck with your work, review the samples or directions carefully first, read through a paragraph a second time, but if you still need help then ask Mr. Shippee or an assistant for guidance.

6.) When you have finished your class-work and noted your ending time on the packet, take your class-work to the grading table to be graded. (Don't forget to correct any mistakes before you leave!)

7.) While your work is being graded, see how quickly you can complete the number board, or quietly review the books in the RRL library (Recommended Reading Library).

8.) If you are a reading student, read a section from your class work reading worksheet out loud to the assistant. This helps us to improve our fluency and oral reading skills.

9.) Once you have finished your work and all is graded, you can choose a fun sticker for your box and get your passport stickers to save up for prizes!

10.) Now you're ready to go home. Take your clear folder with your completed class work to Mr. Shippee for feedback on your Kumon studies and goals. Then off you go!
