Emphasis is placed on individual learning. Kumon recognizes that not all children learn at the same pace. Each student works at a pace and level appropriate for him or her. The Kumon learning method reflects this to ensure that each child receives a level of worksheet that is matched to their individual ability. In this way, each child develops confidence, learning skills and subject knowledge at a rate that is 'just right' for them.

Comfortable Starting Point

The specially designed Kumon curriculum can accommodate all ability levels and ages. A free placement test is given to all new students to assess their current abilities.  Once evaluated, they are assigned a comfortable starting point that is appropriate for the student and allows for immediate success.  This comfortable starting point builds confidence and ensures there are no gaps in the student’s knowledge. Progress is self-paced, inspiring the children to reach their full potential.<

Mastery Learning

Kumon students learn faster and smoother than is normally expected. By focusing on each child as an individual learner, Kumon can ensure that mastery of each concept is achieved. Appropriate practice delivers mastery and that mastery leads to self confidence. Children learn better when they are confident. This means that students feel less anxiety towards their school tests too!
